Over the last few days reports have emerged regarding Jack Perry’s AEW status, and some of the goings on following the AEW All In 2023 altercation he had with CM Punk, which led to the latter’s firing. It was reported that Perry repeatedly sent out apologies to Tony Khan in the aftermath, only to be met with responses from lawyers. Perry himself has directly denied these claims, as noted by Bryan Alvarez on F4WOnline.

Given that this has come from Perry himself, fans should take it with a grain of salt with the possibility of it being part of a wider angle, especially since it contradicts previous stories.

Perry claims that he did not initiate contact with Khan, instead waiting for the lawyers to come to him first. This led to an in-person meeting with Khan which saw plans written up for him to return to AEW in December, though CM Punk’s comeback to WWE put a halt to these plans. This falls in line with a report earlier in the week suggesting that Khan was furious at Perry for the loss of CM Punk to WWE.

It is also stated that Perry asked for his release from AEW in the months following All In, but this request was denied by AEW. Perry is now working in NJPW, and Tony Khan recently commented on Perry’s work in Japan, saying he is doing “great things”.
