At Bound For Glory, The Motor City Machine Guns were scheduled to defend the IMPACT World Tag Team Championship against The North, The Good Brothers and Ace Austin & Madman Fulton. Before the match could begin, however, Ethan Page and Josh Alexander shockingly attacked Alex Shelley and the former Time Splitter suffered a Piledriver on the entrance ramp.

Shelley was ultimately unable to compete and The Motor City Machine Guns dropped the title to The North.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider later reported IMPACT did the angle because The Technical Messiah was suffering from a legitimate injury.

Shelley revealed he was having problems with the C6 and C5 nerve roots in his neck. He tweeted: "So, the C6 nerve root controls your pointer finger and bicep and C5 can refer to your pectoralis. If you feel intense burning in either of these areas following trauma, please seek medical attention. I feel somewhat grateful to have the education to know what the red flags are."

The two-time IMPACT World Tag Team Champion revealed on last night's episode of IMPACT Wrestling he will be out of action for two months. In an interview backstage, he and Chris Sabin said they are coming for the tag team title as Sabin was never pinned at Bound For Glory. They might have to go through XXXL first, though, as Acey Romero and Larry D interrupted the promo and took out Shelley.
