Ilja Dragunov's First WWE NXT UK Title Defence Confirmed

WWE has revealed that Ilja Dragunov will defend his NXT United Kingdom Championship against A-Kid in two weeks.

Dragunov will defend the NXT United Kingdom Title against A-Kid on the Thursday 14 October episode of NXT UK, with WWE making the announcementduring a sit-down face-to-face segment between the champion and challenger which aired as a part of this week's NXT UK show.

A-Kid became the number one contender to Dragunov's Title by defeating Nathan Frazer and Rampage Brown in a triple threat match on last week's NXT UK. The 24-year-old is a former NXT UK Heritage Cup Champion and has previously challenged for the NXT UK Championship on one occasion, losing to WALTER this past January.

Dragunov, meanwhile, will be defending the NXT United Kingdom Title for the first time having defeated the previously unbeaten WALTER for the Championship at NXT TakeOver 36 last month, ending WALTER's 870-day reign as Champion.

Following Tyler Bate, Pete Dunne, and WALTER, Dragunov is the fourth wrestler to hold the NXT United Kingdom Title.
