NXT group Imperium recently spoke with Nick Hausman of Wrestling Inc., with their leader Gunther commenting on the backlash to his recent name change.

Gunther was formerly known as WALTER, before WWE decided to go in a different direction.

There were reports that the company had originally tried to trademark the name 'Gunther Stark', before abandoning it when it came to light the name was shared by a German U-boat commander from WWII.

Addressing the widespread negative reception to the name change, Gunther said that it did not bother him and that the reaction would have been the same if the names were reversed.

"Not all to be honest. If it would be the other way around, and it would be Gunther before and Walter now, it would have been the same uproar. A lot of people react negatively to change. Change is normal in life, and it's part of it, and we have to go with it", he said.

Gunther also confirmed that he now resides in the United States and that his recent physical transformation is due to an increased focus on his nutrition.
