The next stop on the road to WrestleMania 36 is less than six days away as the Elimination Chamber will be broadcast live from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Two Chamber matches have been announced for the show as Shayna Baszler, Asuka, Liv Morgan, Ruby Riott, Natalya, and Sarah Logan face off to determine the number one contender for Becky Lynch’s Raw Women’s Championship at The Showcase Of The Immortals.

The Miz & John Morrison will also defend their SmackDown Tag Team Championships for the first time inside the demonic structure against The New Day, The Usos, Lucha House Party, Heavy Machinery, and Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode.

Since we were first introduced to the Elimination Chamber at Survivor Series 2002, the match has provided us with many memorable moments.  In its first incarnation, Shawn Michaels capped off his unlikely return as World Heavyweight Champion after hitting Triple H with Sweet Chin Music. Goldberg demolished the competition in 2003 until Triple H hit him with a Sledgehammer; and in 2009, Edge began the evening as WWE Champion and ended it as World Heavyweight Champion. To this day, he is the only Superstar to enter two Elimination Chamber matches on the same night.

However, there have been many moments inside the Chamber which have been forgotten about, cast aside to the dustbin of history. This list brings these moments out of the shadows to bask in the light one more time.

Here are five things you forgot happened inside the Elimination Chamber.

5. Chris Masters And Carlito Teamed Together And Almost Won The WWE Championship. - New Year's Revolution 2006

The aftermath of the Elimination Chamber match at New Year’s Revolution 2006 is more famous than the match itself, as Edge cashed in his Money In The Bank Contract on John Cena and ended the night as the new WWE Champion.

What many have forgotten is Edge almost had to face a much fresher opponent in either Carlito or Chris Masters.

Ahead of the bout, the two Superstars agreed to form a temporary alliance to ensure one of them walked away as champion, and proved to be an effective team as they eliminated Kane and Shawn Michaels.

However, with only Cena remaining, Carlito couldn’t help himself as he rolled up Masters to eliminate him from the match, only to be rolled up and pinned by the champion seven seconds later to ensure neither he nor Masters walked away with the title.

4. Sasha Banks Turns On Bayley - Elimination Chamber 2018

The first ever Women’s Elimination Chamber match came down to Bayley, Sasha Banks and Raw Women’s Champion, Alexa Bliss. Bayley and Banks had been friends since Battleground 2016, when The Hugger was revealed as Banks’ mystery partner, but as we came to February 2018, tension had started to build in their friendship.

This led into the Elimination Chamber, as after both Superstars had cornered Alexa, The Boss offered her hand to Bayley, only to then kick her from the pod to the steel floor.

Their animosity then exploded as both Women fought one another, which only led to their downfall as Bliss retained her title.

Banks and Bayley then feuded for a number of months, but never actually had a conclusive match as they were forced to undergo relationship therapy together - which then culminated in them both becoming friends again and forming The Boss “n” Hug Connection.

3. The 2013 Elimination Chamber Match - Elimination Chamber 2013

Fans can be forgiven for forgetting there was an Elimination Chamber match in 2013 as many have tried to forget the entire year ever happened. Before WWE did everything in their power to stop Daniel Bryan becoming a world champion again, however, the 2013 Chamber match took place at New Orleans Arena in New Orleans, Louisiana to determine the number one contender for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 29.

In a match that included Chris Jericho, Kane, Daniel Bryan, Mark Henry, and Randy Orton, Jack Swagger shockingly went on to win by last eliminating The Viper.

His return with Zeb Colter as The Real American was supposed to culminate in him winning the World Heavyweight Championship from Alberto Del Rio at The Showcase Of The Immortals, but after being arrested on February 20, 2013 for driving under the influence, WWE chose to stick with Del Rio as champion.

2. Daniel Bryan Endorses Ryback As Intercontinental Champion – Elimination Chamber 2015

Suddenly advertised as a WWE Network special two weeks before the show, 2015’s Elimination Chamber matches were very much thrown together, as The New Day defended their Tag Team Championships in the earlier bout while Mark Henry, Dolph Ziggler, Sheamus, Ryback, King Barrett, and R-Truth competed for the vacant Intercontinental Championship in one of the night’s main events.

The match, similar to the aforementioned December To Dismember, is remembered for all the wrong reasons after Mark Henry’s pod opened in error, which threw the booking of the match out of the window.

What many have forgotten about is that after Ryback vanquished Sheamus to win the IC title, Daniel Bryan handed the belt to The Big Guy and endorsed him as the new champion.

While the moment was fleeting, it was even more forgettable after Ryback’s unmemorable reign as IC Champion. He only defended the title four times and was primarily occupied in a feud with The Big Show before losing the title at Night Of Champions to Kevin Owens.

1. Test’s Elbow Drop – December To Dismember 2006

Many have tried to forget ECW’s attempt at an Extreme Elimination Chamber ever happened, as CM Punk, Rob Van Dam, Test, Bobby Lashley, Hardcore Holly, and Big Show faced off for the ECW Championship. This does not mean the match was without memorable moments, however.

Late in the match, Test had beaten down RVD, and with a steel chair draped across the former WWE Champion’s face, he delivered a picture-perfect Elbow Drop straight to The Whole Dam Show to eliminate him from the match.
