WWE loaded up NXT with main roster talents for the Tuesday night show's head-to-head episode with AEW Dynamite Title Tuesday and the episode featured a number of top stars and the return of a WWE legend.

NXT opened with a promo from Cody Rhodes, who announced the returns of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and Men's NXT Breakout Tournament. Rhodes also revealed he was the special guest general manager for the evening before he was interrupted by NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov. The two men said nice things about each other until they were interrupted by Judgment Day's Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley.

After a back-and-forth exchange, it was confirmed the NXT Champion and NXT North American Champion would face off in singles action later in the evening with LA Knight as special guest referee. When the match took place, there were more main roster appearances as Finn Balor and JD McDonagh tried to interfere on behalf of Mysterio, only to be thwarted by LA Knight. Trick Williams then halted any interference from Rhea Ripley before Dragunov levelled Dominik with the Torpedo Moskau for the win.

John Cena was also present throughout NXT, making his way to the ring before the main event for a promo, only to be quickly interrupted by Bron Breakker. Cena put over Breakker but the former NXT Champion tried to attack Cena, with the segment coming to an end after Breakker narrowly avoided an Attitude Adjustment.

This played into the main event as John Cena was in Carmelo Hayes' corner while Paul Heyman was alongside Bron Breakker. Cena did hype up Hayes but The Bloodline entered NXT as Solo Sikoa returned to Tuesday nights and attacked Cena, with the 16-time world champion brawling to the back with Sikoa.

This didn't hamper Carmelo Hayes, though, and he picked up the win following Nothing But Net to Breakker. Things then went from bad to worse for Bron Breakker as the "American Badass" version of The Undertaker drove to the ring on his motorcycle and promptly Chokeslammed the son of Rick Steiner after he called The Phenom "old timer." NXT then went off the air with the retired Undertaker standing tall.

Elsewhere on NXT, Shotzi was on commentary for Roxanne Perez vs. Asuka (another main roster talent) and the former Blackheart announced she would once again be the host of Halloween Havoc, this time with Scarlett. Shotzi would then later brawl with Kiana James.

Raw's Tegan Nox also popped up on NXT to set up a match with Lyra Valkyria for next week.

Jade Cargill also continued to tease which WWE brand she would land on as she was shown arriving at the infamous NXT parking lot before she was escorted into the WWE Performance Center by Shawn Michaels.

Elsewhere, SmackDown talents in Butch and Ridge Holland were in action on NXT as they teamed with Tyler Bate to defeat Gallus in a Pub Rules Match.
