Bischoff thinks AEW’s success will drive WWE

AEW’s Grand Slam event is being talked about as one of the biggest non-WWE wrestling successes on US soil for the best part of 20 years, since the demise of WCW.
With AEW now breathing down WWE Raw’s neck with regards to key demos and ratings, there could be a legit fight on WWE’s hands, and according to former WCW President Eric Bischoff, these conditions are where Vince McMahon thrives.
Taking to Twitter, Bischoff said the following following Grand Slam: “In my experience, and getting a glimpse into @VinceMcMahon personality, he’s happiest and most effective when he’s in a fight. S*** got real last night. Strap in. This is going to be a fun ride!”
Another user on Twitter asked Bischoff if any of Vince’s inner circle believe they’re now in a fight, and whether they’d have the heart to tell McMahon, to which Bischoff replied “After last night, they won’t need to.”
No-one knows the ins and outs of competing with WWE quite like Bischoff, who oversaw WCW’s peak in the late 90s, dominating WWE in the Monday Night Wars.
