With his WWE contract expiring at the end of September, Edge will be free to appear at All Elite Wrestling's WrestleDream pay-per-view on Sunday, October 1.

There has been no confirmation that Edge has signed with AEW and Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that he doesn't know if the 11-time world champion is going to All Elite Wrestling. People in WWE only a few weeks ago believed Edge would soon be All Elite, though.

"If that's the deal, or he could cost Christian the title, come in as a babyface to feud with Christian. If there's something that's going to get him back, I mean, it's obviously working with Christian. I don't know if he's going there or not. I just know that people in WWE, at least just a few weeks ago, believed that he was going there. I haven't really asked anyone because it just hasn't been anything that has come up. But when I watched that promo, October 1st is an interesting day. Just with nobody at ringside that's where you would do it," Meltzer said.

As of last word, Edge was "apparently" closer than ever to joining AEW. The Rated-R Superstar has been one of WWE's top stars since coming out of retirement in January 2020 but he had the final match of his WWE contract on August 18.

Edge noted in recent weeks that WWE had offered him a contract extension but reports have indicated the two sides aren't close on money for a new deal.
