Alter Bridge's "Metalingus" was music to the ears of many on Sunday night in Houston, as 46-year-old Adam Copeland wrestled in his first match in close to nine years.
"The Rated-R Superstar" Edge entered the men's Royal Rumble from the number 21 position, making three eliminations, and coming in third place overall.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider
reports that Edge is expected to work some special events for WWE going forward, but is not expected to be a wrestler on a week to week basis.
Edge signed a new deal with WWE several months ago, around the time in which he was medically cleared to return to the ring.
The report goes on to state that Edge traveled via private plane to Houston on Sunday, and was kept hidden until it was time for him to make his entrance.
Edge initially retired in April 2011 at the age of 37, as a result of spinal stenosis. At the time, he was the reigning World Heavyweight champion, having recently defended it successfully against Alberto Del Rio at WrestleMania 27.
