Dean Malenko Said To Be 'Like A New Man' Following Parkinson's Surgery

WCW legend Dean Malenko has been battling Parkinson’s for several years, but a surgical procedure to treat the disease has left the AEW producer ‘like a new man’.

Malenko works backstage with All Elite Wrestling, and recently provided voice-over duties for a video package ahead of the fourth annual Blood & Guts match on July 24. A report from Fightful Select revealed that many in AEW have noted how Malenko is ‘like a new man’ after undergoing brain surgery in 2023, with Malenko said to be ‘adored’ in the company, and noted for his sense of humour.

The multi-time WCW Cruiserweight Champion retired from in-ring competition in 2001, coming out of retirement for a one-off against Mistico in WWE in 2007. A former member of both the Four Horsemen and The Radicalz, Malenko was considered by many as one of the greatest technical wrestlers of all time generation, with his work in WCW’s vaunted cruiserweight division earning ‘The Man of 1,000 Holds’ many plaudits.

After hanging up his boots Malenko worked as a road agent for WWE, exiting WWE in April 2019 and signing with AEW a month later.
