In a conversation with USA Today's Under The Ring podcast, Davey Richards revealed that he wasn't sure if anybody would book him following his return to wrestling.

Richards is a former ROH World Champion and five-time tag team champion in TNA/IMPACT Wrestling, alongside American Wolves partner Eddie Edwards.

On the podcast, Richards talked about his initial uncertainty, explaining:

“When I came back, I didn’t know if anyone was going to book me. I didn’t know if anyone was like ‘Man, who is this guy?’ because when I left, I felt like my style was not en vogue at all - and I didn’t follow wrestling at all because I didn’t want to watch it. I didn’t want to get that itch and I had to really focus on school.”

Richards initially left wrestling to become a trained paramedic. His fears about returning to the ring were thankfully proven wrong. He was booked by several different promotions in the latter half of 2021, and appeared at multiple shows over the course of WrestleMania weekend in April. Recently he made a surprise appearance at IMPACT's Slammiversary, wrestling for a team of IMPACT originals against the heel Honor No More faction.
