The WWE is definitely putting together a Hall of Fame ceremony this year, according to Davey Boy Smith Jr.

The annual awards evening takes place during WrestleMania weekend every year, but was shelved in 2020 due to COVID-19. Rather than cancel the class of 2020 entirely, WWE opted instead to move the inductee ceremony to 2021.

One of the past stars set to be inducted is The British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith, with his son Davey Boy Smith Jr. - formerly known as D.H. Smith in WWE - and family set to induct him.

On the plans for the Hall of Fame, Smith Jr. told The Metro: “I’ve been starting to pinpoint things. I’m gonna have to base that on how much time they’re going to allow me. My sister and my mother will be with me on the podium, and how much we’re gonna have to divide that between the three of us – and who’s going to do the induction for him.

“I’m not sure what or who that might be at this point because of the Covid restrictions. I think it will just be me inducting Davey, as far as I know. I don’t think that they’re doing an audience, just with the fans from the Network on the screens.”

With WrestleMania set to be a two-day event again this year, it’s not yet been revealed just when the Hall of Fame ceremony will take place.
