Dakota Kai Saves Bayley From Damage CTRL On SmackDown

On last week’s SmackDown, the 2024 Royal Rumble winner Bayley made the decision on who she would face at WrestleMania 40. After revealing that she knew the other Damage CTRL members had been talking behind her back for several months, she targeted former ally Iyo Sky and the WWE Women’s Championship for the Showcase of the Immortals. This led to Damage CTRL beating Bayley down, though she found an equaliser in a planted steel pipe to fight them off.

Last night on Friday Night SmackDown, this story saw a major development. Bayley came out to the ring to address the goings on from the previous week, until she was interrupted by Dakota Kai, who was absent from the show when things blew up for Damage CTRL. Kai revealed that she has been conflicted about the group ever since Asuka & Kairi Sane joined, and wasn’t comfortable saying anything until now.

The three other members of Damage CTRL then emerged and surrounded Bayley, but Dakota Kai wielded a chair and forced Iyo Sky, Asuka, and Kairi Sane away from the ring, saving Bayley. It should be noted that Kai’s chair shots didn’t make any contact with the Damage CTRL members, so where her allegiance truly lies remains to be seen.
