Cody Rhodes To Defend Undisputed WWE Title Against Solo Sikoa At SummerSlam
Cody Rhodes Vs. Solo Sikoa will be taking place at SummerSlam
Jul 13, 2024
The main event for SummerSlam 2024 has been written on the wall for quite some time, but on last night’s Friday Night SmackDown Cody Rhodes officially laid down the challenge to Solo Sikoa, putting his Undisputed WWE Championship on the line at the premium live event.
The closing match of SmackDown saw WWE Tag Team Champions DIY defeat A-Town Down Under in a rematch from last week, but their celebration was cut short as The Bloodline hit the ring for a vicious attack, led mostly by the ever-impressive Jacob Fatu. Sikoa took to the mic, but Rhodes hit the ring and made it known that he was willing to put his Undisputed Universal Championship up for grabs against Sikoa in a singles match at SummerSlam.
Although SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis has yet to make the match official, it is safe to assume that it will be okayed in the very near future. SmackDown closed out with Rhodes himself being a victim of a brutal attack, being tied up in the ropes as The Bloodline put his ally Randy Orton through the announce table.
