Former WWE Champion CM Punk mocked his former employers yesterday after it was announced the July 2 Money In The Bank pay-per-view would be moving from Las Vegas' Allegiant Stadium to the smaller MGM Grand Garden Arena, also in Sin City.

Fans who had already bought tickets were automatically refunded and they will have the first opportunity to get seats for the event at the new venue.

Why exactly WWE moved to a smaller arena has not been announced but WrestleTix noted approximately 17,924 tickets had been sold for a building that was set up for 24,867. WWE had 51,326 fans in attendance for last year's SummerSlam at Allegiant Stadium.

CM Punk couldn't help but mock WWE's move as he shared a poster of WrestleMania VII on Instagram and wrote: "Another bomb threat smh."

Punk was ultimately referring to WWE's decision to move WrestleMania VII from the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum to the smaller Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena. The show was set to be headlined by a WWF Title match between Sgt. Slaughter and Hulk Hogan and WWE claimed at the time that the venue change was due to bomb threats as Slaughter was using an Iraqi sympathiser gimmick during the Gulf War. This was dismissed, though, and the venue change was down to poor ticket sales for The Showcase Of The Immortals.
