CM Punk Fires Back At Reports About His AEW Status In Latest Instagram Rant
CM Punk takes to Instagram amid uncertainty around his AEW status
May 17, 2023
In another one of his Instagram Stories rants, CM Punk has called out Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer and reports about his AEW status.
"Look everyone, Bryan Alvarez doesn't like it when misinformed internet trolls make up rumors about him so please stop making rumors and stories for clicks while Bryan makes up rumors and stories for clicks okay? He's married for gods sake! By gawd that man has a family!!! (Bryan Alvarez shut the f**k up and stop talking about me challenge day 1)," Punk first wrote.
The 44-year-old then posted a screenshot of what appeared to be an email from Bryan Alvarez to an unknown recipient in which Alvarez stated that he does not and has never had an issue with CM Punk. David Bixenspan has stated the email in question is actually from 2009 or 2010.
Punk then added:
"Friendly reminder: I haven't been on tv in nine months and ya'll still just can't stop talking about me. Maybe stop, you'll feel better. Love, hate, it's all the same. I don't enjoy being the sole person that props up entire misinformed clickbait industry based on toxic gossip from lying sources, but what can you do? When you're the king, it comes with the crown."
The latest rant from Punk was posted after reports stated that he was once again at odds with All Elite Wrestling, this time over the potential return of Ace Steel.
It was expected that Punk would make his AEW return on the inaugural episode of AEW Collision on Saturday, June 17. The two-time AEW World Champion was originally scheduled to be listed as a Collision headliner in the press release announcing the launch of the Saturday night TV show but he was pulled from the announcement. Reports have since claimed that Punk was pulled from all promotional materials for Collision and he was possibly replaced by MJF in the Collision graphic.
Punk's future with AEW is currently unclear.
