As seen at Ring of Honor’s Best in the World pay-per-view, there’s a new face in the women’s division; Chelsea Green.
Making an unannounced appearance during the show, Green took to the stage whilst Maria Kanellis Bennett and Lenny Leonard were revealing the brackets for the upcoming Women’s Title Tournament, and was announced as a participant.
Taking the place of the disqualified Vita, The Hot Mess proclaimed ‘this is what freedom looks like’, before promising to come for every single thing ‘they’ (WWE) said she couldn’t have.
According to a report from Fightful Select, Green’s ROH deal was sorted over a month ago but she still needed clearance from WWE to make her appearance at Best in the World, as her 90-day no compete clause doesn’t officially run out until Tuesday.
Green is currently recovering from a broken arm and is expected to provide commentary on ROH TV until she is fit to return to the ring. Despite a working deal being in place, Fightful also report that Green hasn’t signed a contract with ROH as of yet.
