Charlotte Flair Reveals Why She Had Extended Absence From WWE TV

Charlotte Flair was conspicuous by her absence for most of 2022, with the multi-time WWE Women’s Champion returning in December after a near eight month lay-off.

Flair was gone from WWE after WrestleMania Backlash in May, written off TV so she could get married to Andrade El Idolo, but as Flair revealed to the New York Post, her absence went over schedule after she had multiple dental issues fixed, with ‘The Queen’ unable to risk a hit to the face for several weeks after each procedure.

Whilst away from WWE, Flair also took advantage of her time away from the ring to travel, including a weeklong trip to Italy with Andrade.

Charlotte returned on the December 30 edition of SmackDown from Tampa, Florida, defeating WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey to a huge reaction from the fans, before celebrating in the crowd with the title. Flair is currently feuding with Sonya Deville, ahead of a likely title clash between the two on or around the Royal Rumble on January 28.
