Ahead of WrestleMania 39, Rhea Ripley will be hoping of finally getting a singles win over Charlotte Flair, with ‘The Queen’ prevailing over Ripley every time they’ve locked horns in singles competition.

After defeating Ripley for the NXT Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 36 in 2020, Flair would go on to defeat Ripley for the Raw Women’s Championship at Money in the Bank 2021. But as Flair revealed to Bleacher Report, she was hoping their MITB encounter would form part of a larger feud in 2021:

"I think there would have been another match after our Money in the Bank [match] had Nikki A.S.H. not cashed in on me," Flair said. "I think this is now the ending to that. I think Money in the Bank would've probably led to another, but then you have this crazy cash-in out of nowhere and we just never crossed paths again... In hindsight, I had no control of that. I'm saying it now: I don't have control. I'm so flattered that people think I had that much power. I'm very flattered, but trust me, I don't."

Flair and Ripley have had four singles bouts on WWE TV, with Flair winning three, and Ripley winning one… by DQ.
