Buddy Murphy Teases His Next Move Following WWE Release
Murphy's WWE non-compete expires at the end of August

Buddy Murphy has taken to social media to cryptically tease his next move in professional wrestling.
Murphy was released by WWE in June along with Aleister Black, Braun Strowman, Ruby Riott, Lana and Santana Garrett. The group's departure was the latest in a series of cuts to the roster by the promotion.
Murphy was released on June 2 2021 and has a 90-day no-compete clause with WWE, which will therefore expire on August 31 2021. In a telling indication that Murphy is planning for life after WWE, changes to his social media reflect the expiration of his no-compete clause.
A new profile picture on his Twitter and Instagram simply says '8/31/21', indicating the day Murphy is free to sign with another wrestling promotion.
Murphy's first-post WWE match has already been confirmed. The former Cruiserweight Champion will battle AEW's Brian Cage September 18 at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia for the Battleground Championship Wrestling promotion.
Given his WWE no-compete expires two weeks before that, it is possible Murphy could appear for a promotion such as AEW or IMPACT before the 18 September.
