Bronson Reed Hoping For Rubber Match With Kazuchika Okada Despite WWE Return
WWE’s Bronson Reed wants a rubber match with Kazuchika Okada
Feb 20, 2023
As surprising as Bronson Reed’s WWE return was, it pails into comparison to his 2022 win over Kazuchika Okada in NJPW.
Whilst Okada would eventually avenge his loss, Reed still wants another go at ‘The Rainmaker’, despite being in different companies, with Reed saying the following to POST Wrestling:
“Japan’s a bit of its own world in the way that they operate and they do things and I think it’s very much — it’s not like WWE and some of these places, they have a set idea for six months in time whereas in Japan, I think they very much go off of what you do in the ring. They’re waiting to see what I could do, how I’m presented to the crowd, how they feel about me and stuff like that and then it sort of moves from there so, yeah, I wasn’t 100 percent sure about the (Kazuchika) Okada match but then when it happened, I was very happy and I’ve had the two matches with him now, we’re one a piece. Hopefully, there will be a rubber match somewhere down the road. I say hopefully, maybe under the WWE banner,” said Reed.
Whilst NJPW enjoys a close working relationship with AEW, they have recently done some work with WWE, with Karl Anderson working Wrestle Kingdom 17 on January 4 despite being part of the WWE roster.
