Bobby Roode Removed From Active WWE Roster
Bobby Roode no longer listed on WWE’s active roster
Oct 11, 2023
Bobby Roode’s in-ring career appears to be over, with the former NXT Champion no longer listed as part of WWE’s active roster.
Per a report from PWInsider, Roode’s profile on WWE.com has been moved from the active roster to the ‘miscellaneous’ section. This section is reserved for legends and currently inactive/injured wrestlers. Roode has been out of action since June 2022, but has recently been working backstage in WWE in a producer role.
Whilst there is still a chance that Roode returns to in-ring competition, it seems more likely that the ‘Glorious One’ will continue with his producer duties, having been working in a producer capacity since early August.
Since being put on the shelf in Summer 2022, Roode has undergone two neck fusion surgical procedures in November 2022 and May 2023. Neck fusion is no joke, and can be a massive hurdle for any wrestler to overcome in order to make an in-ring return, never mind a veteran talent such as Roode.
The 47-year-old is a multi-time champion across WWE, having held the NXT Championship, US Championship, the SmackDown Tag Team Championships, and the Raw Tag Team Championships - the latter on two occasions.
Roode is also a TNA/IMPACT legend, having had six reigns with the TNA World Tag Team Championships, two runs as NWA Tag Team Champion, and two runs as TNA World Heavyweight Champion, the first of his reigns standing as the longest in title history for over a decade until the record was broken by Josh Alexander in 2022/2023.
