With ROH’s impending hiatus on the horizon, chatter continues to build as to what this will actually mean for the legendary indie promotion.
The main concern for fans and wrestlers alike is what will happen with ROH’s roster, and former ROH Tag Champion Bobby Fish shares those concerns, revealing on a Highspots Virtual Signing:
“It is what it is. I have fond memories of my time there, I do. My concern is for the boys. It's never good to see a place that provides jobs for the boys and the girls to have a place to work and to get a paycheque and for that to go away, it's never a good thing. I just wish the best to all the locker room there and that's who I feel for at this time. I don't know the ins and outs, you know, management and all the other stuff at Sinclair and whatnot. Frankly, I don't care very much. The friends that I still have in that locker room, I want them to be successful and taken care of and [to be able to] take care of their families and all that good stuff, you know?”
Fish continued, “I think AEW is full of young talent that is on the rise and doing cool and interesting things within the company. As far as outside of that, I don't really know. I'm thinking of the people that I'm concerned with, with the Ring of Honor thing, if we piggyback off of that, I just want guys like Jay Lethal and Dalton Castle and Matt Taven, talented performers that deserve a place to work, and a good place to call home. So I would like to see them pop up somewhere, get something going for them.”
