Big Title Match Set To Open NXT On The CW

Next Tuesday’s October 1 episode of NXT will mark their debut on The CW network, beginning a new era for WWE’s developmental brand going forwards. WWE is looking to capitalize on the buzz of this move to a brand new television station by opening up the card with a major match.

WWE announced on Friday that two of the biggest stars in the NXT women’s division will be kicking off this new era, as Giulia will challenge for the NXT Women’s Championship, battling the reigning champion Roxanne Perez. The pair faced off on NXT’s last week, only to be interrupted via video by new signing Stephanie Vaquer, who, along with Giulia, is set to be a big focus in the NXT women’s division going forwards. Vaquer stated that she would be waiting for whoever emerges victorious out of Giulia and Perez. It was reported this week that NXT's move to The CW could feature a brand new 'metallic' look for the show.
