WWE star Big E is keeping himself busy while he continues to recover from a broken neck.

United States Football League team The Michigan Panthers announced yesterday that, beginning April 30, the former WWE Champion will act as their emcee for the 2023 season.

The USFL kicked off its season this past weekend. The Michigan Panthers play at Ford Field, the site of this year's SummerSlam.

Big E played as a defensive lineman for the Iowa Hawkeyes while attending the University of Iowa in the mid-2000s. He was forced to abandon his football dream and pursue powerlifting due to injuries.

It is currently unknown when (or if) Big E will be able to return to active in-ring competition. He recently intimated that a comeback isn't being considered, but that he has a 'backup' plan, saying:

"Being able to go to these college campuses and talk to athletes and let them know about WWE and the opportunities here … really resonates [with me]. Because I remember being 23 years old [and] a 'failed' football player at Iowa dealing with a bunch of injuries and then trying to figure out [my] entire life. I really love being involved in that way and I’m sure there will be other ways as well that I can be involved while I'm not in the ring".
