NXT Halloween Havoc 2023 Night One saw a new NXT Women’s Champion crowned, with Lyra Valkyria defeating Becky Lynch for the title.

Heading into the show, Lynch had defended the title at any given opportunity, and a report from Bodyslam.net suggests ‘The Man’ headed into Halloween Havoc ‘banged up’.

Despite Lynch operating at less than 100%, this is not believed to have played a part in her losing the match and the title to Valkyria. It is believed that Lynch’s condition is not an extension of the arm injury she suffered at NXT No Mercy on September 30 in an Extreme Rules match with former champion Tiffany Stratton.

Lynch’s loss to Valkyria saw her title reign end after 42 days, with Lynch managing to successfully defend the title five times across WWE television. Her loss was observed by recent WWE signee Jade Cargill, and it remains to be seen if the former AEW TBS Champion has her eyes set on Valkyria and the title, or on Lynch.
