Kevin Owens' new deal with WWE is reportedly proving a popular move with talent and officials backstage in the promotion.

As noted, Owens has put pen-to-paper on a new contract with WWE. The former Universal Champion's deal was set to expire in early 2022 but Owens himself has now confirmed he will be remaining with the promotion for several more years.

It has been reported that the 37-year-old's new contract will keep him with WWE until January 2025 and will see him earn between $2-3 million a year. Fightful Select is reporting that the backstage reaction to Owens staying with WWE has been unanimously positive.

It is noted that, based on the conversations Fightful has had, Owens is a well respected and highly liked figure within the WWE locker room, with one performer calling him a 'good moral compass'.

Another individual said that Owens was deserving of a huge contract with WWE for 'any number of reasons', while other sources suggest they were sure as of three weeks ago that he would stay with WWE.

Owens has previously seemingly teased a potential switch to AEW on his social media feed and, from the All Elite Wrestling side, people are said to be happy for him for securing such a large deal.

It is said that Owens has maintained a good relationship with many people on the AEW side and it is believed the promotion would still be an option for him whenever his deal with WWE now expires.
