With the watching WWE Universe tuning into last night's SmackDown Live expecting to see a Fatal 4-Way to determine Asuka's challenger for WrestleMania 35 take place, Vince McMahon et al pulled a fast one.

Instead of getting that Fatal 4-Way we got an impromptu SmackDown Live Women's Championship match with Charlotte Flair challenging for the gold - only because Becky Lynch called her the "third wheel" in the 'Mania main event.

Charlotte shocked the world and won the championship, seemingly removing Asuka and a SmackDown Women's title match from the 'Mania card altogether. At the time of writing, that triple threat main event still only has Ronda Rousey's Raw Women's Championship on the line.

According to Dave Meltzer, Vince McMahon had a change of heart on Tuesday in the hours before SmackDown went on the air and decided to scrap the advertised Fatal 4-Way match because he didn't want to have Asuka defend her title against somebody the watching WWE Universe

didn't care about

WrestleMania 35 takes place in just 11 days time inside MetLife Stadium.
