Asuka's WWE WrestleMania 35 Plans Reportedly Being Reconsidered
The SmackDown Live Women's Champion was going to face Lacey Evans, apparently...

With the attentions of the watching WWE Universe largely on the Raw Women's Championship picture and happenings between Ronda Rousey, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch, SmackDown Women's Champion Asuka has been left out in the cold slightly.
Since defeating The Man in the opening match of the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, The Empress Of Tomorrow hasn't really done anything of note - even finding herself being left off Sunday's Elimination Chamber card altogether.
Asuka's current plight has left the WWE Universe wondering what she could be doing at WrestleMania - and it appears any plans have been taken back to the drawing board.
According to
Dave Meltzer, Lacey Evans was in-line to face Asuka at WrestleMania 35 but that isn't a certainty now: "I was led to believe that it was being reconsidered and that it was not a 100 per cent ‘no’ and it could happen," Dave said on a recent episode of
Wrestling Observer Radio.
Those of you who saw this week's SmackDown Live will know that Evans being a WrestleMania opponent for Asuka still appears to be a distinct possibility, as a distraction from the owner of a
Woman's Right
- who is appearing on WWE shows these days to walk down the ramp and then backstage again - allowed Mandy Rose to roll up Asuka for a shock win.
After presumably getting a win back against God's Greatest Creation at Fastlane, could a few more distractions from Evans set up a WrestleMania match for Asuka? Only time will tell.
