Earlier this week it was reported that Joe was struggling with an illness that saw a segment involving him removed from this week's Raw.

also confirm that the former NXT Champion was backstage at both this week's Raw and SmackDown Live.

During last week's SmackDown Live, Braun Strowman made a shock appearance to attack Samoa Joe, hinting that a feud between the pair for the United States Champion could be on the cards.
