All Elite Wrestling and New Japan Pro-Wrestling may well be joined by another promotion for the 2024 edition of the Forbidden Door pay-per-view.

Originally coined by Hiroshi Tanahashi in 2020, Forbidden Door has been an annual pay-per-view between AEW and NJPW since 2022. Headline matches at the first two editions of the show include Kenny Omega vs. Will Ospreay, Kazuchika Okada vs. Bryan Danielson, and Jon Moxley vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi for the Interim AEW World Championship.

Another promotion looks set to be added to the mix this year, with Dave Meltzer reporting on Wrestling Observer Radio that CMLL talent being featured on the card is "absolutely being talked about."

CMLL and AEW entered into a working relationship in October 2023 that led to Mistico vs. Rocky Romero on AEW Rampage. The partnership has been expanded in early 2024 and several CMLL talents have been featured on AEW programming. As of late, Mistico, Volador Jr, Mascara Dorada, and Hechicero have teamed together against Matt Menard, Angelo Parker, Christopher Daniels, and Matt Sydal on Rampage. Hechicero also faced Bryan Danielson on Collision.

CMLL involvement on AEW TV looks set to continue, potentially through a feud with Blackpool Combat Club.

Details on Forbidden Door 2024 have yet to be revealed beyond that the event will be taking place again this year.
