After months of speculation, AEW Collision was officially announced on May 17, with the upcoming Saturday night show set to debut on TNT on June 17.

The show was formally announced during the Warner Bros. Discovery upfronts presentation, with a press release stating that the new show will feature the likes of Miro, Thunder Rosa, and a returning Andrade El Idolo amongst others.

News of which was apparently new to El Idolo himself:

“Órale!! what news, I had no idea!!!” tweeted Andrade.

Whilst Miro and Thunder Rosa recently made their AEW returns on the May 10 Dynamite, El Idolo hasn’t been seen on AEW TV in months, with speculation surrounding his AEW future for most of the past year.

Andrade signed with AEW in Summer 2021, last wrestling in the Casino Ladder Match at All Out 2022 last September. During a turbulent summer for AEW in 2022, El Idolo was one name linked with a jump back to WWE amidst allegations of tapping up, and the former NXT Champion also received a suspension for his part in a backstage altercation with Sammy Guevara.

Reports earlier this year stated that Andrade was recovering from surgery following a torn pectoral muscle.
