He hasn't appeared in WWE in over three years...

Alberto Del Rio hasn't competed in WWE since losing to John Cena on 16th August 2016 episode of SmackDown.
During a recent interview with TMZ Sports, the former World Heavyweight Champion discussed a possible return. When asked if he had thought about returning to WWE he said: "The door has always been open for both sides. I’m not against their business and they’re not against my business. At the end of the day, I understand now as a promoter, nothing is personal. When you’re an athlete, sometimes you think your boss doesn’t agree with you because he doesn’t like you but it’s nothing personal."
Since leaving in 2016 Del Rio has turned out for the likes of IMPACT Wrestling, WCPW and various promotions in Mexico. Most recently, he has been preparing for his mixed martial arts fight against former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, Tito Ortiz. They will face off in Combates Americas on 7th December in Hidalgo, Texas.
Del Rio was also asked about if he believed any current WWE Superstars could make the transition to MMA. He admitted most Superstars say they can but "they're all talk."
The only name he considered having a realistic chance was Mexican high flyer Sin Cara, who recently requested his release from the company.
