One talent in All Elite Wrestling is receiving more money than the rest of the roster.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Chris Jericho is the highest-paid wrestler in AEW.

While discussing the decision to have Konosuke Takeshita defeat Chris Jericho on AEW Dynamite, Meltzer said: "I think he's the highest-paid guy in the company. He is the highest-paid guy in the company. And it's like, you really want to protect that investment if you're paying a guy that much money. I mean, you can get anyone to put over these guys. It's like you need to have him lose when the losses mean you know again, but it's great for Takeshita."

Chris Jericho was one of All Elite Wrestling's biggest signings after the company was founded in January 2019 and he has been one of the promotion's top stars ever since. Jericho was also the inaugural AEW World Champion, holding the belt from All Out 2019 until Revolution 2020 when he dropped the title to Jon Moxley.

Jericho inked a new deal with AEW in October 2022 that will keep him with the promotion through December 2025.

The 53-year-old explained why he re-signed at the time, telling Variety:

"I guess the simple answer is 'Why not?' Things have been going so well in the company, and I really do feel that this is my company. It's tattooed on my heart, so to speak. I've been here since day one, and there's really no reason not to be here continuing forward.

"When AEW first started, I think basically it was Chris Jericho and a group of very talented people that might not have been as well known. Within three months that changed and now within three years, we've got at least a dozen, maybe two dozen, of our own homegrown stars that came into their own on AEW television."
