All the action from the latest AEW Rampage tapings
Sep 29, 2022
AEW made their way to the ‘land of extreme’ Philadelphia this week, airing a live Dynamite on September 28, and recording upcoming episodes of Rampage and Dark: Elevation on the same night.
Two titles were on the line across the tapings, and several guests appeared.
SPOILERS AHEAD
In their first defence since winning the AEW World Tag Team Championships, The Acclaimed put the gold on the line against The Butcher & The Blade and Private Party in three-way action in Rampage’s opener, with Caster and Bowens getting the win over the AFO stablemates.
‘The Hollywood Hunk’ Ryan Nemeth insulted Philadelphia but was soon shut down by HOOK, as the FTW Champion brought a slice of ECW to AEW. As HOOK was choking Nemeth out, The Trustbusters left an envelope on the stage for the ‘Cold Hearted Handsome Devil’, which HOOK took as he made his exit.
Rampage’s main event saw La Faccion Ingobernable’s RUSH defeat Dark Order’s John Silver, with Andrade El Idolo getting involved. Eventually, the rest of the Dark Order and Hangman Page made the save, and it looks like there’s more to come from this rivalry.
On Dark: Elevation, Dalton Castle & The Boys defended the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championships against Primal Fear, whilst The Embassy's Brian Cage defeated Tracy Wiliams, and Lance Archer beat ROH favourite Cheeseburger. CHAOS member Rocky Romero also made his AEW return, teaming with Best Friends and Danhausen to defeat The Factory.
