AEW completed their latest round of Rampage and Dark Elevation tapings on August 17.
Recording after Dynamite in the Charleston Coliseum in Charleston, West Virginia, Rampage - set to air August 19 - featured the second first round match of the AEW Trios Title Tournament, nd an FTW Title match.
ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli opened the show to issue an open challenge for the gold, with Dustin Rhodes accepting. The two will clash next week.
Swerve In Our Glory successfully defended the AEW Word Tag Team Championships against Private Party, and FTW Champion Hook steamrolled Zack Clayton in under a minute, before Angelo Parker and Matt Menard contemplated making a play for the title.
Buddy Matthews was in action against Serpentico, and after picking up the win brawled with Miro, as ‘The Redeemer’ continues his quest against the House of Black. The issues between Athena and Jade Cargill also went up a notch, after Jade and The Baddies beat down Athena, with Jade destroying Athena with a sledgehammer.
And in Rampage’s main event, Best Friends advanced to the semi-finals of the AEW Trios Championship tournament after overcoming The Trustbusters. Sonny Kiss tried to interfere but The Trustbusters were cursed by Danhausen, with Orange Cassidy getting the win over Slim J.
