after Fight For the Fallen on Saturday night in Jacksonville, AEW President Tony Khan answered questions for nearly 30 minutes on a variety of topics, many of them centered around the immediate future of All Elite Wrestling.
During one particular question about AEW's forthcoming TNT show, Khan, while noting that further details on the program would be made available prior to the All Out pay-per-view in Chicago, slipped in a detail that hasn't been confirmed anywhere else, but logically, most would have assumed anyway: Cody Rhodes vs. Shawn Spears is on the All Out card.
"We've got a lot to do before All Out," said Khan. "But we've got time before All Out to build up the stories, build up the Chris Jericho-Hangman title match, build up Kenny Omega vs. Jon Moxley, and build up Cody Rhodes vs. Shawn Spears, and build up more of the big matches we have planned."
Spears vs. Rhodes was set in motion at Fyter Fest on June 29, when the former Tye Dillinger made headlines for smashing a steel chair into Rhodes' head. Though the chair was gimmicked to minimize potential head injury, the lip of the backrest ended up gashing the back of Cody's head, necessitating a dozen staples to close the wound.
