All Elite Wrestling have started 2024 on the front foot after a 2023 that was largely a year to forget.

With many fans stating that ‘the feeling’ was back in the company, and AEW President Tony Khan believing 2024 could be like 2021, optimism seems to be high around the company at the moment.

Taking to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reports that morale in the company is the best it has been ‘for some time’, despite ratings and ticket sales not being as strong as they had in previous years. Meltzer notes that the February 7 edition of AEW Dynamite could be considered a disappointment in terms of ratings due to the hype and build around it, but is not believed to have impacted morale.

2023 was a year of ups and downs for AEW. Whilst they further strengthened their working relationship with New Japan Pro-Wrestling, put on a host of critically acclaimed pay-per-view events, as well as selling between 70,000 - 80,000 tickets for All In Wembley in August, the product was seen as stagnant by many fans, whilst injuries to several top stars, and the headline-grabbing conduct of CM Punk and his subsequent firing meant that many were talking about AEW in the negative rather than the positive.
