Both Dynamite and NXT hosted their latest episodes on Wednesday as their professional wrestling war rumbled on.

Those who tuned into Dynamite watched Cody Rhodes overcome Kip Sabian despite a bad knee and The Young Bucks stake their claim to the AEW Tag Team Championships as they defeated The Butcher & The Blade. PAC also thought he was at a Newcastle United away game as he cut a topless promo while outside in the cold. Chris Jericho & Proud And Powerful also accumulated another victory as they conquered Darby Allin & Private Party in the main event.

To compete with Dynamite, NXT hosted the final of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic as The BroserWeights defeated Grizzled Young Veterans. Dominik Dijakovic was also crowned the number one contender for Keith Lee's North American Championship and Tommaso Ciampa signed the contract for his NXT Championship match in blood.

Ultimately, more fans tuned in to Dynamite

this week as AEW achieved its fifth straight victory in the Wednesday Night Wars. The TNT show averaged 828,000 viewers, while NXT garnered a viewership of 712,000.

Similar to previous weeks, Dynamite topped NXT in all demographics apart from over 50's and the show was the third most popular programme on all of cable tv, only finishing behind an NBA game between the Houston Rockets and the Portland Trail Blazers, and Real Housewives of New Jersey. WWE's black and gold brand, however, languished in 37th, finishing behind Catfish: The TV Show, Guys Grocery Games and analysis of President Donald Trump's impeachment proceedings.
