AEW Dynamite Results: March 10 2021 - Revolution Fall-out, New Faction Forms
Also, who won the TNT Title match?
Mar 11, 2021
We are several days removed from AEW: Revolution and that ending, with this week’s Dynamite sure to address the events of the Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch.
Dynamite opened with Rey Fenix vs. Matt Jackson in singles action. An even handed back-and-forth bout between the two, until Fenix got the win with a knee assisted Fire Thunder Driver for the win. SCU watched from the stands, as they will take on the winners of The Young Bucks and Death Triangle in their inevitable Tag Title match.
Backstage, Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston were drinking by a fire pit. Kingston said the anxiety of the Revolution ending was the same as when he was in jail, waiting for his trial, and being told he may end up in Sing Sing or at Rikers. Kingston reckons the bomb was supplied by Impact, as Moxley said he had the match and all he got was a lousy t-shirt. Moxley says he’s glad Kingston didn’t get blown up, but he wanted to see a bomb go off. “If you’re going to flash a weapon, use it.”
Cody Rhodes had a squash win over Seth Gargis, before Penta el Zero M called him out. Alex Abrahantes translated for Penta, who said he was better than Cody, and that Cody should be thankful Penta didn’t injure his shoulder more severely so he couldn’t hold his baby daughter. Cody ran for Penta, and the two had a big brawl around ringside.
Chuck Taylor and Orange Cassidy were in an arcade and challenged Kip Sabian and Miro to one more match, before Tony Schiavone had his traditional weekly interview with Sting. Before Sting could properly get going, Lance Archer and Jake Roberts came out to have words with the Stinger.
Ethan Page made his Dynamite debut, beating The Nightmare Factory’s Lee Johnson. Post match Page attacked Johnson as Dustin Rhodes made the save, as QT Marshall - who was ringside for the match - watched on and did nothing.
Alex Marvez caught up with Adam Page on his brand new ride-on lawnmower, as he and the Dark Order went for ice cream.
Tony Schiavone was meant to interview Christian Cage, but Kenny Omega, Don Callis, and The Good Brothers came out instead. Callis said he couldn’t confirm or deny if the lack of an explosion was intentional, but said it was a win/win situation, as although they didn’t blow up Moxley and Kingston, they made them look like pathetic idiots. Kingston came down to confront them, as Kenny mocked him and his attempted ‘save’ of Jon Moxley. Kingston punched Kenny in the face, Good Brothers jumped him, as Moxley ran down to turn this into a brawl.
During the fracas, Christian Cage came to the ring, and after dodging a Kenny cheapshot, went for the Killswitch, to no avail. Cage held the AEW Title as Kenny and Don were going crazy at ringside.
Six-woman tag action next as Hikaru Shida, Ryo Mizunami, and Thunder Rosa defeated Britt Baker, Nyla Rose, and Maki Itoh. A bit of a mess, but it was very entertaining, with Itoh easily the star of the match. Post match, Baker sank the Lockjaw in on Thunder Rosa, and we’ll have a Light’s Out Unsanctioned Match between the two in next week’s Main Event.
Backstage a grape eating Matt Hardy unveiled the newest additions to his crew; The Butcher, the Blade, and The Bunny. Butcher and Blade will team up with Private Party against The Dark Order on AEW: Dark Elevation on Monday.
Our final match of the evening saw Darby Allin successfully defend the TNT Championship against Scorpio Sky. Sky dominated Allin for large portions of the match, but couldn’t get the job done, with Allin getting a roll-up out of nowhere as Sky went for The TKO. Post-match, Darby patted Sky in respect, but Sky snapped, locked in a Heelhook, and had to be dragged off the champ by refs. Scorpio Sky then looked at his hands in shock à la Mr. Bob Backlund, then smiled.
Closing the show we had the Inner Circle’s War Council after Chris Jericho and MJF’s loss to The Young Bucks at Revolution. Jericho said a change of direction and new members were needed, as MJF said they needed to remove members not add them. Sammy Guevara came out, and showed some hidden footage of MJF conspiring with Santana, Ortiz, and Jake Hager to remove Jericho from the Inner Circle. MJF tried to sic the three on Jericho, but they turned their backs on MJF, as Jericho officially fired MJF from The Inner Circle. MJF announced he didn’t want to take over the Inner Circle, as he was too busy forming his own, as Wardlow, FTR, Shawn Spears, and Tully Blanchard appeared to mercilessly beat down The Inner Circle. Wardlow powerbombed a bloody Jericho off the stage through two tables as Dynamite went off the air.
