After that edition of Rampage from Chicago, it was time for AEW: Dynamite live from Milwaukee.
The man of the hour CM Punk grabbed all the headlines once more as Tony Schiavone interviewed him in ring. Punk put over the fresh talent of AEW such as The Lucha Bros, Jungle Boy, and Brian Pillman Jr., before speaking about Darby Allin. Punk sees a lot of himself in Darby, and said that facing Darby will be the measuring stick to see if he can still go in the ring. The crowd were hot for Punk once more and showered him with ‘yes’ chants, to which Punk said “that’s somebody else’s schtick but you might just need to be a little bit more patient”. Bryan Danielson confirmed?
Chris Jericho addressed his future after losing the Fifth Labour of Jericho last week, and said he’d done a lot of soul searching. Jericho said if he’s not fit enough to defeat MJF is he fit enough to wrestle at all anymore? A final match between MJF and Jericho was made for All Out, with Le Champion’s career on the line. Will Jericho finally get a win against MJF?
The Lucha Bros are through to the finals of the World Tag Team Championship Eliminator Tournament after besting The Varsity Blonds in a spirited bout. Penta and Fenix will take on Jurassic Express for a shot at The Young Bucks at All Out.
Elsewhere, there was dissension in The Dark Order, The Bunny unsuccessfully tried to recruit Tay Conti into the HFO, Malakai Black continued his assault on The Nightmare Family, Jon Moxley vs. NJPW/AJPW legend Satoshi Kojima was made official for All Out, and Kenny Omega and The Super Elite beat down Christian Cage.
