AEW: Dynamite this week was a special St. Patrick’s Day Slam edition, taking place as always from Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida.

The show opened with a quick shot of MJF and his new crew getting off of a private jet and into a limo. Definite Horsemen/Evolution vibes.

We then go to the ring for our first match of the night, which saw Cody Rhodes take on Penta El Zero Miedo. This all stemmed from last week when Penta said he should have injured Cody’s arm more at Revolution, and prevented Rhodes from holding his baby daughter when she is born. The two had an intense match, with Penta targeting Cody’s shoulder, but Cody withstood everything, and got the win out of nowhere with a roll-up. Penta attacked Cody post-match until the Nightmare Family ran him off, QT Marshall was late to the save, once again.

Alex Marvez asked The Young Bucks about their forthcoming AEW Tag Title defence against PAC and Rey Fenix. Don Callis interrupted with a ‘no leg slapping’ t-shirt, then said the Bucks aren’t the same Bucks who ran riot in Japan. Callis said Kenny Omega is now a wrestling God, while the Bucks are just another team with fancy tights living off of their name.

We then saw Jade Cargill get a super quick win over Dani Jordyn. Cargill and Red Velvet argued at ringside post-match.

MJF and his crew came to the ring. Tully Blanchard took the mic to say “when you climb the mountain and there is no place left to go, you have reached the pinnacle of this sport.” MJF doubles down on Tully’s point, proclaiming this group as ‘The Pinnacle’ before putting over each individual member. MJF then fired a warning to Jericho and The Inner Circle, and said he is 24 years old and still has another 25 years in this business. When his career is over, Jericho won’t be the GOAT, that space is reserved for MJF.

Jurassic Express and Bear Country then teamed to take on Matt Hardy, Private Party, and The Butcher & The Blade. After Bear Country launched Marko Stunt at the heels on the outside, Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus took exception to their tactics. The faces continued to bicker, allowing Private Party to hit Gin & Juice, and Matt Hardy to hit Twist of Fate onto Stunt for the win. Post-match, Jurassic Express and Bear Country continued to argue.

Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston were backstage talking about how much they hate The Good Brothers, and in the words of Moxley ‘not just because I wasted my money on Talk-n-Shop-A-Mania’ . Kingston said The GBs are cowards, and dropped hints at Bullet Club, the nWo, and many other things.

We then finally heard from Christian Cage. Cage said he’s not a workhorse, but he’s THE workhorse and everyone will soon remember that. Cage also said he has his eyes on Kenny Omega’s AEW Title, but he needs to get a few wins under his belt before he can face the champ. Finally, Cage said he’s in AEW to cement his legacy and to outwork everyone.

Moxley and Kingston then took on The Good Brothers. The GBs jumped Eddie during his entrance and the four men brawled around ringside before the bell rang. After taking Moxley out with a Magic Killer on the floor, the former IMPACT Tag Champs were all over Kingston. Moxley eventually got a roll-up out of nowhere for the win. Post-match Kenny Omega and Don Callis came out, and Pillmanised Kingston’s ankle. When they threatened to do the same to Moxley’s throat, The Young Bucks came for the save, yelling at Kenny about Callis before denying the GBs a too sweet as they continued to argue with an irate Omega.

Next, Tony Schiavone talked to Darby Allin and Sting. Darby said he has only defended his title three times and that’s a disgrace, and issued an open challenge to anyone in The Dark Order for next week. Lance Archer and Jake Roberts came out to threaten Darby and Sting, then Team Taz came out to have their say. Brian Cage seized the mic from Taz, offered his respect to Sting and said Ricky Starks was wrong and that Sting is STILL the icon, as Team Taz berated Cage.

We then saw a Scorpio Sky had a video package. In it Sky said he’s sick of being passed over time and again, and he is determined to prove that he is a wrestling savant. If people get hurt then so be it.

Afterwards, Rey Fenix defeated Angelico after a back and forth match, with Angelico using many submission manoeuvres to keep Fenix grounded. We then heard from Miro who said he is over Chuck Taylor and Orange Cassidy. Kip Sabian disagreed saying that they ruined his wedding day, and Miro is the reason Penelope Ford is injured. Miro gave Sabian some advice, and said he doesn’t care about him, his wife, or his opponents, Miro only cares about becoming World Champion. Miro then said Kip is still his friend outside of the ring, as Kip officially accepted Chuck and Orange Cassidy’s match request.

Alex Marvez then asked The Dark Order who is going to accept Darby’s TNT Title Open Challenge. -1 said he was going to face Darby, but Evil Uno said he’s nine years old and would have to wait at least a decade. John Silver accepted the challenge, and the Dark order all chanted ‘MEAT’.

In our main event Thunder Rosa defeated Britt Baker in a brutal blood spattered Lights Out Unsanctioned match. Baker took the lion’s share of the punishment, bleeding like crazy after taking a ladder to the face. Thunder Rosa was bleeding too, but managed to nail a kneeling powerbomb on Baker onto thumbtacks, before a Fire Thunder Driver off of the apron through a table for the win.
