All Elite Wrestling officially unveiled their new Chief Operating Officer (COO) on March 26, with Kosha Irby formally announced to be taking over the role despite having started back in January 2024.

Irby - a former Regional Director of Live Events in WWE - comes to AEW highly touted, and a report from Fightful Select suggests that those in AEW management are ‘excited’ by the work Irby has done so far, with it said that Irby brings a ‘fresh approach’ to matters, his work earning unanimous praise internally.

This ‘fresh approach’ apparently concerns the logistical side of his role, with the booking of upcoming arenas and locations said to be more streamlined. Indeed, before Irby took over the role many AEW dates had been publicly revealed and announced several months in advance, whereas for example by March many dates for April were yet to be announced, with some deals still ongoing by mid-February.

AEW will be hoping that Irby’s work pays off in the ticket sales department, with the promotions live attendance having noticeably slumped in late 2023. Since the signing of Kazuchika Okada, Will Ospreay, and Mercedes Moné, it seems as though attendance is picking up again.
